God Is Smarter (Pt 2)
Isaiah 55:8-9
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts
Higher thoughts!
How often do you hear the voice of our heavenly father saying 'can you trust Me?' How often do we expect God to come through for us in a certain way and it did not happen the way we wanted it? How often have we been frustrated with delayed expectations? How about some prayers that appear to have gone unanswered? If we can just pay close attention, we sure will hear the father saying 'trust Me child, I have got it all figured out'. But can we trust him?
Our passage today in Isaiah 55:8-9 is quite astonishing “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts''.
God is actually talking to you...oh yes YOU! God is saying 'I do not think like you do' 'My ways and methods are different from yours' In fact, 'My thoughts and ways are higher than yours'. If you can measure the distance between the heaven and earth (which is in fact immeasurable), that is how far apart My thoughts are from yours'… Incredible indeed!
What thoughts and desires do you have right now regarding your family or career or business? What thoughts and desires do you have right now regarding your ministry or calling? What thoughts do you have right now regarding your area of endeavor? The father is simply saying that He has something far better for you if you can trust Him.
Ephesians 3:20 puts things in better perspective 'Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us'. Notice the expression 'exceedingly abundantly above all'. Wow! God surely has better things in store for us. All we need to do is to trust Him, align ourselves with His thoughts and will for our lives.
This calls for complete and total dependence on Him! We can choose to trust Him and allow him to order our steps. Proverbs 3:5-6 says 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths'.
It is possible to acknowledge God in all our ways; in other words allowing Him to have His way in our lives. Psalms 37:4-5 encourages us to delight ourselves in the Lord and commit our ways to him 'Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass'.
Notice the last phrase 'And He shall bring it to pass'. Why? 'He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think' Halleluyah!
Dare to trust and depend on God today.
Have a wonderful week and God bless you.
